For those interested in towing your GT500 or should the car have to be towed to the dealer for service be sure to put the car in neutral. There is a simple procedure for placing the car in neutral. Start the car and place the gear selector knob in neutral. In the center console locate the rectangular plug next to the USB. Use a small flat head screwdriver and pry it open, I used my knife. I had already performed this procedure so this is why mine is open. Yours will be closed. This is what it will look like. Next pull on the plug and cord. The cord will extend and you will feel a small tug, stop. This is what it looks like. A screen will pop up on the centerinstrument cluster and states, “Park not available apply park brake before exiting.” The car is now in neutral and will stay there for towing. To release the car from neutral pull on the plug and the cord will retract. The cord does not completely retract I just stuffed the rest of the cord in the opening and covered the opening with the plug. Make sure the car is in neutral before attempting this procedure or else it will not work. This should be done for all towing else the transmission gears may be damaged. I read this in one of the GT500 online owners supplements. I do not remember which one. If you want to apply the parking brake you can however being the parking brake is electric it may drain the battery. This warning was all so in the supplement. I all notice the warning on the center instrument cluster remainder on the screen. Edit to add pics
