I apologize if this is a stupid question, never dealt much with body work. Long story short, if someone had put on a roll pan that’s flush with the tailgate (Ex: Sir Michael’s), would it be possible to put a stock one back on? Is there cutting involved with a flat roll pan like that? Thanks in advance.

That sounds like "body-work" had to be completed if the rollpan is nice and smooth & intergrated with the side panels.

I have seen some rollpans have a "lip" that covers the corner seams on each side; meaning bolt-on & no "body-work".

The second-gen L came with color-matched standard Ford step bumper, no "factory" rollpan....
