[QUOTE="mysicman, post: 11121042, member: 69050"] When I was totally stock I did a 70km/h-170ish run with my buddy in his 08'GT/CS. We were dead even until he shifted at 6000 and then I started to pull. Since I put the 4.10's in it seems like he will pull a bit on me if we do a similar run. Now I never did an exact comparison of what gears and final ratios etc we each went through, it just suprised me ( the math explanation makes more sense) What would be interesting would be two identical cars (diffrent gears) with similar drivers at the track for a 1/4 mile and then a highway run. Its hard to compare diffrent cars with different power bands. Had to do my own math :) Edit: Assuming same cars with t45 - ratios 1st(3.37),2nd(1.99),3rd(1.33),4th(1.00) 3.27 final (11.02) (6.51) (4.35) (3.27) 4.10 final (13.81) (8.16) (5.45) (4.10) So from a dig 4.10's win hands down. From a roll depending on speed and where in power band they fall it is concievable that the 3.27 car would be in 3rd with a final ratio of 4.35 vs the 4.10 car being in fourth with a final drive of 4.10. If the 3.27 car was above 3500rpm and the 4.10 car below then the powerband would also come into play. Under this senario the 3.27 car would pull. Also 5th gear is .67 so the 4.10 car would have a final drive of 2.74 so the 3.27 car would still be pulling as they both shift into the next gear. Makes sense to me because essentially you are starting a drag race, just at speed and in a higher gear and are stuck with whatever gear and rpm you are at, which is why roll racers are always particular when picking the rolls they race...
