Has any individual or company done a turbo project on a Terminator using a gutted Eaton for an intake? I was thinking about this last night and I wanted some input from those in the know. Why couldn't you take an Eaton housing, gut it, and put a freewheeling pulley on the snout to keep the thing looking stock, but fabricate a twin turbo set up that could use 2 small turbos, like from a salvaged car to save money, and all the necessary parts, wastegate, fuel, etc., and plumb it so it used the stock intake tract and used the stock intercooler set up. That way, the outward appearance would look stock. The turbos could get their air from the two intake holes near the foglights. Would just need to make a coupling for the exhaust so they could be plumbed in. Looking for some thoughts. Thanks

The issue seems to be you pretty much need to move the alternator up like on a 96+ Cobra to have room for the downpipes, and it would interfere with the snout on the blower.

the HP kit allows you to keep the alternator in it's factory location. Also, none of the pipeing from the HP kit would interfere with the eaton, or any of it's accessories. Also, the HP kit does pull air from the vicinity of the fog lights. Try calling HP and talk to Jimmie or nathan about possibly getting a price quote for a kit without the intake setup..... (probably similar pricing to a MACH 1 kit.

Project Spec: Complete IronMan 76mm 03-04 Cobra Turbo kit, Digital Boost control, Cobalt boost and Air Fuel guages, DFI w/ 83lb injectors, twin 255Lb pumps, twin fuel lines, Fuel rails, 3-4" tigged Aluminum intake tubing, full 3" exhaust from long tube headers, Custom side exhaust, 8.8 solid axle w/ Eaton Posi 4:10's, 31 spline Moser axles, BBK Control arms, KYB quadshocks, Centerforce clutch, Fluidyne radiator, Crank case pump, 4 piston Brembo Brakes, 2x2x1/4 box tube subframe, 6 point cage, Ironman GenII Targa Kit and IronMan CL2 c-pillars

We elected to do a total sleeper by keeping the entire Eaton housing with the snout. We successfully gutted the stock supercharger and creating an idler pulley via independent snout assembly so that when the hood is popped it looks like a bone stock 03. This not only utilizes the existing upgraded intercooler for our 23PSI , but also saves $$$ on an air to air intercooler and replacement manifold. Estimated power is 810 RWHP and 900+ with Heads and cams.

From the removal of the stock charger we see the air inlet to the manifold is minimal and concentrates the boost to the front of the manifold. We can see blow by in cylinders 1,2,3 and 5,6,7 and a concentrated coating of carbon/oil on the front of the manifold with no residue on the ports for cylinders 4 an 8 or in the back of the manifold. This has also caused excessive build up of oil/carbon on the intercooler itself which overtime will render the intercooler semi useless as airways and heat transfer/absorption by the intercooler is restricted. Another contributing factor is improperly ventilated crank pressure that is pushing oil through the PCV and into the throttle body. We see that the inside of the rotor housing had a fine coating of oil. This is a low mileage 03 Cobra and we have seen similar carbon build up on high mileage cars. We see this as a major culprit to intercooler inefficiency and power development restrictions that may lead some to upgrade their heat exchanger or lose the entire Eaton blower all together.
