sooo bought new wheels for the Mach 1 - 18x9 and 18x10. Car makes 650+. I have a drag pack setup already, looking for tires for street and maybe autocross. I'd like something that can take a corner and something with at least a prayer of traction

Based on projected ship dates, I gambled and bought some R888Rs for the front, have not mounted them yet. I was looking at R888R in a 295/30/18 or 305/35/18 but now they're pushed back from around now until late March so thats out.

I can get an R888R in a 275/35/18 which is a little narrow on a 10" wheel imho, Toyo says its good on a 9.0 - 11.0 wheel and 9.5 is the ideal size.

thoughts?

thats the problem with the rear tires - there are no 18" 295 or 305 R888Rs until late March, at best. So I've either gotta run a 275 in the rear or find another tire.

I had previously tried some MT sport comps in the rear on a whim and while fun to some degree, if you thought about the throttle they spun

A buddy went with Falken Azenis RT615K's in 315/30/18. He's at 700 so they still spun, but so far he's happy with them.

Hankook does make an RS4 in a 295/40 18.

A little taller but it might help with your power level.

That's a really good tire for anything track oriented and I like them on the street as well. Never tried them on anything near your power level.

**** it, I can have the R888Rs in a 275 here in 2 days from tire rack, just gonna run em for now. If I don't like Im I'll take my lumps when the wider sizes are available

Cookie Cutters, huh.
toyo runs really wide if you look at their fitment guide. I think their 275 is probably closer to the same actual width as most brand's 295. It might be just a touch skinny on a 10" wheel but it certainly won't be stretched or anything.

I'm running the 315/17 on a 10.5" rim and there's noticable bulge. The 275's I have on thr front would probably fit a 9.5" rim with no issue.

glad I didnt actually order yet.

After talking to a track rat friend I ordered a full set of Falken Azenis RT660s. 255/35/18 and 285/30/18 are what they recommend on those wheel sizes.

I'll sell the Toyos and hopefully get most of my money back on em
