Trunk Will Not Close

The trunk on my 98 Contour SVT won't close. I mean, it shuts and the light goes off but the latch will not catch. You can open the trunk at any time. Suggestions? Thanks.

Sound like the latch is stuck. Check that the inside release is down. Then take a look at the latch itself.
