I've temporarily installed my Trick-Flow ARP bearing cap stud kit into my IRS differential case, and the nuts are barely threaded onto the studs before they are tight. I have the studs installed into the housing all the way until they are tight (hand tight for now) with the smooth stud shank resting right above where the caps meet the case. The nuts are only hand tight also for now until I install the differential back into the case so they haven't been torqued to spec yet. Is this the right stud kit or is there differences between the IRS case and the SRA case for bearing cap stud kits? I'm an aircraft mechanic in the USAF and a general rule of thumb we were always taught was you need to have at least 2-3 threads of a screw shank protruding past the nut...
