I wanted to freshen up the interior of my 03 Cobra with something different but at the same time keep it subtle. After bouncing some ideas off Waylon at TMI we came up with a game plan. I ended up with a one off design that retained the factory look but added a custom touch that only enthusiasts would pick up on. Went with a charcoal suede center, white stitching and white cobra emblems. Also did a matching shift boot and ebrake cover. Everything except the ebrake cover showed up yesterday. Basically you get brand new covers and new foam. Zporta came over and we began the install. We had done a TMI interior earlier in the year on his GT500 so we had a good idea what we were up against. Zak was a huge help. Here are the pics from day one. We worked on it for around 3hrs and got this far...
Stock light gray seats out of the car...
Frames I picked up off craigslist...
Frames disassembled, foam going on...
One seat covered...
Front seats covered and reassembled. Still need steamed...
Passenger seat back in the car...
I wanted something different and opted for a set of Halo headrests. I can switch back and forth to the stock headrests if I want.
That's about where we stopped last night. Still need to put the drivers seat in and install the headrests. The back of the rear seat is done as well, just needs put back in the car. I'm still looking for a donor rear bench seat as you reuse the stock foam for that one. Also have to install the shift and e-brake boot. Once its complete I'll go back and steam them which will remove any wrinkles or spots I couldn't get smoothed out. So far I'm extremely happy with the whole process. TMI has been great and the quality and fitment is awesome. I'll work on it some more this evening and probably wrap it up this weekend. Can follow the install on instagram as well @baggedcobra.
