Title question???

so im looking at buying a car, and the owner of teh stang says he has a clear title in hand, but when you do a carfax it pulls up that the car has a salvage title, and that it may have been a title wash, that the salvage title was not transferred to the new owner in a diff state? i guess my question is if i bought it and he gave me a clear title, would i have a clean or salvage when i register the car in my name?
also i heard if you do some hp-105 application and get a car inspected you can have a salvage title cleared.. anyone know anything about this?? thanks guys!

that sounds like a sticky situation, you would prob have good luck contacting your local title office.

YA it is and it was caused by a pretty big name on this site who ive emailed a few times and hasnt responded, im trying to give him a chance to respond before i put his name out for future reference!
