Hi! I purchased Goodyear Eagle 1s for my front tires and Nitto 555r Drag Radials for the rear. When I was searching for them I just thought about how they were in the rain and didn’t even bother to think about the winter and snow. The shop gave me this warning about them cracking under 15 degrees and where I live, it is rare, but it can get that cold. I was wondering if I should try to get different tires or just stick with these?

Also, if I wanted to run wider tires in the rear and I wanted to keep the stock wheel is that possible, or would I need different wheels?

Sorry I don’t know much about cars but I’m trying to learn.

The stickier the tire the more it needs to stay in a limited temperatures. As it gets cold out the rubber will act like it’s plastic, no grip and potential wrecks from that. If the car is garage kept and not driven on the cold days then you are fine. If you drive on the cold days and it’s an outside car then get a second set of wheels/tires for that season
