I have a 92 GT, which I lowered a few weeks ago. I bought a set of wheels a week or so ago that were 17x8, with 255/45/17. I bought them more for the rims, know that the tires may have to go. Well, I was right, I need a lower profile tire as I am rubbing in the front (have rolled the fenders already). Is the 245/45/17 a good fit for 17x8 wheel or should I go with a thinner profile? I had 245/45/17's on a different 17x8 set up before and thought it looked right. Just want some opinions so I get it right. Thanks.

You can do 245/45/17 on the front and 275/40/17 on the rear for a nice looking stance.Just get the front tires in a non directional pattern so you can cross rotate them for good wear.

It would look good with 17x8(245/45/17) on the front and 17x9(275/40/17 on the rear.I know its only a inch wider but it does make a diffrence from the rear view.

tire

I wound up getting a 17x8 Chrome Cobra R replica. Found them on craigslist from someone in okc. They looks great. I knew the tires probably wouldn't work, but figured I wouldn't have a problem selling them since they were new. I bought 245/45/17 Hankooks today from discount tire. I went back and forth on getting a different size for the rear, but I did not want a rake. I actually kind of have one anyway's since my top isos are removed in the front. I like the even stance on fox bodies. I don't know why since I liked the rake on both Cobra's I had.
