In order for racers to be better prepared for the biggest street-legal drag race of the year, NMRA/NMCA racing officials are proud to announce the addition of Test & Tune on Thursday (July 26) to the 13th annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL, the weekend of July 26-29, 2018. This is the last of two events in 2018 that bring all the cars and all the stars of NMRA and NMCA drag racing together on the same weekend. “Last year we brought back the Thursday test and tune and we are happy to once again offer that option to our competitors,” said Rollie Miller, national event director for NMRA and NMCA. “Adding the test session last year was our commitment to the ProPledge program, our customer service initiative that we started five years ago. Two years ago, our racers approached us regarding the merits to start the race earlier and we were more than happy to oblige. The Route 66 Raceway staff, led by Scott Paddock and Terry Greetham, was once again very accommodating, further proving they have one of the premier drag racing facilities in the country.” Heads-up and index racers can expect track prep from the NMRA/NMRA on-track team led by Jake Green, the official starter of NMRA & NMCA, and Kurt Johnson of Total Venue Concepts. Test & Tune entries can be purchased for an additional fee at the NMRA/NMCA registration trailer at the event.
