Hey guys, I threw my lower back after moving some stuff in my house to prep for a putting my house up. I was using floor movers and one of the sliders moved and def tweaked my lower back (right in the middle). I have a 1 hr drive into work and could barely sit in traffic and anytime a cough, sneeze, laugh or even take a dump I can barely move. Any quick fixes? I can only sleep on my stomach with a pillow lifting my left leg. Is there any remedies to get over this quickly?

Also getting out of bed or getting off the couch is so painful, standing and working seems to help greatly.

Chiropractor. Ya done messed up a-a-ron.

Sorry to hear Jay. I hate moving furniture. Ultimately I always end up broken at the end of it.

if you can find someone with an inversion table it might help.

As far a chiro - I would only go if you can find someone that does upper cervical care (they dont snap/crack/pop you). The first appointment is $$$ though because they have to do Xrays to determine how to adjust you. The one we go to will do multiple adjustments in the same day for the cost of one.

That sucks, man. I tweak my back every once in a while in the gym and it NEVER heals quickly. It's usually a couple of weeks of pain killers for me when I do.

I refuse to use pain killers or pop pills, family issue with that. I guess I'll just have to take this one on and bitch to the g/f

Chiro for sure. I've had numerous lower back issues and that always fixes it.

I trashed my lower back working with my K9 last week. Couldn’t even stand up straight for two days. Went to the doc and they gave me muscle relaxers and a strong anti inflammatory.
8 hrs later I was moving just like normal and the soreness lasted a couple days.

I wouldn’t worry about getting addicted to those, make you feel like crap in my opinion.

    800mg ibuprofen, 3 times a day
    1000mg Tylenol, 3 times a day
still well within the safe limit for these meds. do this for 3-5 days and the pain should be improved

Take MoM which will alleviate some pain when you have to crap.

Time and the prescribed meds listed above. I tweaked mine badly on 5 or 6 different occasions, mostly from weights. Funny how when I stopped squatting, deadlifting, barbell rowing, and barbell power cleaning I never had another back injury. I found sitting to be the worst for it so I would always stand or lie down. Light activity like walking can help the healing process. A whirlpool or jet spa feels good as well.

I had the same thing happen Sunday and went to the doctors this morning to get checked out. He prescribed me a muscle relaxer and I'll be doing physical therapy to improve on it. I'll probably hit the chiropractor up as well just because I haven't been in several years. Basically, take ibuprofen and alternate heat/cold.

Me, I just bent over ever so slightly to move a chair out of the aisle my daughter had set up and it felt like someone stabbed me in the back. No pain down my legs or up my back, just centralized in the lowest part. It's a real bitch to wake up to have to pee and takes several minutes before I can finally stand up to limp over. Really sucks because my daughter wants to play and my wife is 32 weeks preggers and I can't do a damn thing.

Depends if it is nerve or muscle injury.

Nerve/slipped disc- Ice helps and Ibprophen helps as listed above.

Muscle- Stretching hamstrings, Meds, heat and ice rotation.

Chiropractor is one of the worse things you can do especially if it is a nerve/slipped disc injury.

I ruptured 2 discs 6 years ago and had terrible sciatic pain for months. Docs couldn't do anything except painkillers so finally I couldn't take it anymore and went to a chiro. 1 visit and I was 90% better. In general, all they are doing is stretching out your spine to relieve pressure on the nerves. Every once in a while I over do it and end up back in the chiros office...lol!

Talk to your doc and a reputable chiro about treatment options.
