In Michigan they go odometer exempt on title after 10 years, so after 10 years they can roll it back and its not tracked by BMV, and they don't care.
I find it less likely that it was driven 77k miles in 5 years, where outside those 5 years it clearly was not driven at all. It would be very obvious based on pictures/in person. I highly doubt odometer rollback in this situation. I have found a couple situations where it was rolled back on cars in Michigan, however. In Michigan they go odometer exempt on title after 10 years, so after 10 years they can roll it back and its not tracked by BMV, and they don't care. I just found one that was supposed to have 96k miles, and it really has about 150k. Previous owner got screwed and never did a Carfax.
