$400k. Granted, a unicorn but wow

Viper prices have skyrocketed in the last 2 years. I remember when you could get a nice 13/14 Gen5 viper for 80k used. You could get a Gen3 SRT10 for 40k. Now it's almost impossible to find a Gen5 under 100k, even Gen4 vipers are almost all 100k unless they're high mileage. Gen3s can still be found for 50 to 60k. Gen2s are all over the place, if it's a 96/97 blue GTS it's going to be 80k or more. The more normal colors aren't bad for prices. I don't follow Gen1s but I'm sure they're cheap.
I currently work on and babysit a 04 Gen3 viper for a friend of mine, hopefully one day I'll buy it off her for a good price lol.
I've always been a huge viper fan and I've always wanted to own one, I probably could have if I had kept buying GT500s lol. But that's the one car I love more than a Viper. However I currently get to drive the Gen3 pretty much whenever I want and I take care of it. The lady that owns it will probably only keep it for a few more years so hopefully I'll buy it for a great price. I would still love a blue 96 GTS. That car is absolutely timeless.Yeah it's nuts. I've been on the hunt for one and the Gen I/II/III ones I'm chasing are up anywhere from 50-100% in just the last year or so. Reeeeeal wet blanket. Might give up and opt for a Hellcat instead, but absolutely everything's prices are messed up right now. Just a matter of what's better/worse than the market in general, and if it's going to be possible to ride this spike out.
The 001 car sold to a museum, much like the 001 cars that sell at BJ for 10x's market value, it's not indicative to the market.
Now, every other ACR selling for $50-85k over their original MSRP are very indicative to what the market will bare.

This guy.Used to be a guy on here who had an orange one and then got a blue one. He posted a lot of mods he was doing as well as some roll races. Haven't seen him lately and wonder if he sold it. His handle was paintless###. Can't remember the numbers at the end.
That's the guy. Thanks. Looks like he's been offline here longer than I thought.
Yea he put in a 9L motor in the car. Makes around 700rwhp NA. I'd love to do that one day, but in an ACR.That's the guy. Thanks. Looks like he's been offline here longer than I thought.
Gen II GTS.Here, Stephen, dream about this one tonight. LOL. Seriously, the Gen 3 GTS is stunning beyond words. Probably THE car I'd love to park in my garage. It just drips testosterone like no other car on the planet.

You are exactly correct. A good friend of mine owns 30+ gen 2 GTS vipers and counting.. They are being hoarded in a warehouse for future investment and he is far from the only one doing itI would not read too much into these prices. Dealerships are not getting that much for those Vipers. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a small cross-section of collectors who are trying to drive up prices.
I just hope more of them go to the track, where they belong.
