[QUOTE="GNBRETT, post: 16647055, member: 111882"] Not sure if u guys have ever heard of "The Strid". Its located in Yorkshire England and its quite a fascinating and utterly DEADLY stretch of water. The river starts out at about (60) feet wide or so and then funnels into an area thats about (4-6) feet wide in most areas. It has a 100% FATALITY rate if u fall in! No one has ever fallen in to tell their story! At its most dangerous location its only (4) feet wide and its (213) feet deep! Yes (213) feet that was recently verified with a depth finder! Could be deeper in spots tho its tough to say cause its so turbulent. The river literally turns itself on its side and has carved out a very deep hole thru the rocks and under the rock that ur walking on are caverns and caves underneath that can go hundreds of feet in either direction! The last couple that fell in were newly weds and tried crossing a (3) foot wide spot and the woman slipped and fell in after the water rose and was sucked under. Her husband jumped in to save her and he too was sucked under. He was found (2) months later (10) miles down stream! Many who have fallen have never been seen again!
