I'm as pro Trump as anyone on this board and have been behind what he's done as POTUS until this week. I think what's been passed is garbage and only leads the country further down the road to economic collapse. This is coming from a guy that's laid off and is going to get paid $1,200 a week to stay home (which I WON'T ****ing do), and get a supposed one time check for $3,400 for my family.

I understand the premise behind the action and agree something should have been done...But, I'm so disappointed T$ didn't stand up to Pelosi and announce to the country the level of garbage the Democrats stuffed into this legislation, slam his foot down saying the legislation is for the current emergency not for partisan pork to be dumped on the backs of posterity. I feel like if he approached it that way his approval level would be even higher than its risen to.

    What say you?

I figured out what happens when you drain the swamp in Washington DC.

I'm not impressed nor am I pleased with this piece of shit bill

I'd like to see an exact break down of the money and I like to know how long this bill has been sitting in a desk...1k pages in a few days? Cmon, and not one of those ****s read the whole thing

I am glad however that most of Pelosi's pork got pulled out...but I'm sure there are several other pet projects in there somewhere

The Canadian government just announced that they will be subsidizing 75% of wages for businesses. Might just have to give myself a raise...lol! Seriously though this is going to cost unimaginable amounts of money that we don't have. I fear the tax increases down the line to pay for this.

    ******steps on soap box******

I have no issue helping my fellow American during their hour of need in a reasonable way, but the sheer scale of this stimulus is mind bending.

    $2,000,000,000,000.00.
    Two thousand billion dollars
    Two hundred thousand million dollars.

They saw the American people were desperate and used that opportunity to **** us.

This thing is packed full of pork as every scumbag politician paid every ****ing special interest they have throughout the world off to retain their power.

The scale of corruption and graft in this bill has never been seen before. Billions in payoffs that we and our children are going to have to pay for at some point. Money is a drug and we just given the worst drug addicts in the world an unlimited supply of their favorite drug.

3.3 million new unemployed applications for the week ending March 21, that is 5 times more than any other week in history. This past week will be even worse. There are estimates that 10% of the workforce could end up unemployed.

This is going to completely reshape some industries going forward. I don't like the bill either, but we're in uncharted territory. If Trump did nothing he would be toast in November. My issue is giving money to people like my wife and me who didn't lose their job.

One point that I totally agree with above is that people who did not/will not lose their jobs should not receive a stimulus check. There are a lot of people out there in very poor financial condition, wondering how they are going to get through this even with a stimulus check. We saw a good friend of ours at Stop & Shop yesterday. She is a day care worker and lost her job. She cannot survive on unemployment. Our hearts were really touched because we know what she makes and what her budget is. So when she was checking out, we slipped our credit card to the cashier and paid for her groceries. She was very thankful, but as we left the store my wife and I both counted ourselves in a much better place than a ton of other folks. We don't want a stimulus check.

Sure, but if he doesn't sign he's a "tyrant that won't save America by not allowing a stimulus package to be distributed to those in dire need"

I hate that people have lost their jobs. I hate that people may struggle to build a savings. But I hate that so many people were financially unprepared for such an event.

Borrow, buy, borrow, buy, gimme, gimme, gimme, spread every paycheck thin.

Good luck to those out of work currently. Things will pick back up, it's just a question of when. My wife and I are fortunate that we've both retained our jobs. Luckily, they've at least structured the bill PARTIALLY correct and are not giving us anything.

This is just the 1st package.

No worries, so the swamp dwellers didn't get everything they wanted in the first package. They will get it in on one of the next 3 packages. Yes, I said 3.

They (msm and swamp dwellers) will convince Americans that we need 3 more packages. These are their socialism/green new deal packages.

This is also why I would not be suprised to learn that the china virus was spread on purpose by the left/soros/ccp.

I say I've worked really hard for 24 years now. Finally have a 6 figure salary and due to my hard work I get NOTHING from this corny ass bill. A 6 figure salary is like middle income these days.

Glad to see the guy working at Walmart since HS gets $1200 and I get $0.

How bout a small penalty for every $1000 u make over $100k. There are over 15 million ppl in this country making over $100k and they all get screwed. Hey Pelosi.... "**** You" and ur Food Stamps for all ur constituents!

The Swamp just can't help themselves. I could see adding self employed and gig workers to the unemployment but $600+ unemployment is a bit insane. So in NJ you will receive $1300/week.
Also the $1200 check is a waste and won't do shit to stimulate the economy.
That bill could've been $500B tops and helped most people through this.

Yup my wife and I are both over 6 figures each and I'd say we're middle Middle-class. By the time you pay your taxes, HI, save for retirement. You get to keep less than 50% out of that you have to pay your Mortgage, property taxes, car payments, credit cards, food shopping, utilites, etc. After all that I have to check my bank account to make sure I can take out a few bucks for pocket money.

This kind of 'free money' handout seems crazy. What would be wrong with making the money available to all as a loan? Why reward those who refuse to keep a reserve for that rainy day? The government keeps more options open this way. They can still forgive certain groups loans later but at least they avoid what will now be an unexpected lotto windfall by many people and companies who don't need the cash.

We hated that the Obama administration handed billions to rich bankers, etc and in 8 years ran the debt up by $8T. Oh, but he had a crisis... Big deal, he gets the blame and deserves it.

LOL at people now thinking to bame the left for those years AND what is happening right now before our eyes. Somehow the left is to blame for this? The left porked the bailout, paid off special interests and, best of all, spread the China virus on purpose. Honestly, lol.

So the current administration was already on track to blow out Obama's debt increase even before Corona. Who can guess what it will end at now? A President has the right to refuse to sign a bill. There has been zero swamp draining in the last three years. In fact, the swamp is doing just fine.

Look how many govt people dumped stocks before the big drop. Both sides. Do you honestly think this stimulus money is going to avoid these people? Will they have invested in large $ recipients? Will billions go to hotel bailouts, for example? I'm guessing yes. No need to limit blame to the left. It is there as well on the right all the way to the very top.

If you want to drain the swamp you may have to dump the whole lot of them.

Exactly! Ur in a higher tax bracket now so the $100k doesnt go very far these days. And what incentive will ppl have to go back to work after say 2 months and things calm down?

Ppl will be like screw that im making more playing Xbox at home than working. Granted its only for 4 months but U know dam well they will extend that if its longer.

Small business owners often have short term or temp employees so good luck getting ppl to come back to work if they are still receiving benifits smfh.
