Just took this photo from my balcony. That tree snapped from the heavy winds. Fortunately, it fell in the direction it did.

Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
Yup, thick as pea soup over here, about 500'
Today’s high is 85 with some humidity. Just the way I like it in December. Feels like Christmas.
My buddy down the street. Another former MassHole. Set up his Christmas display with a Corona beer display. I will snap a pic if I remember to.

It's been non-stop heavy rain and wind all day today. It's raining in a way we don't see very often, like maybe once ever 5-10years, and the river behind my apartment is rising really fast. They rolled a flood barrier out today but haven't inflated it yet, but if I had to guess we may see the banks of the river breached by morning. Since I got home from work about 2hrs ago now it's risen about 2ft from what I can tell and has another 3-4ft to go. I've seen it breach the banks a few times throughout the years but never get past the secondary berms.

I'm on the top floor so I'm okay, but between my Bronco and my Escape I'm leaving my Escape and driving my Bronco out if it comes to it because the cars would be vulnerable. If it breaches the banks there is still a 2-3ft berm that's next before it starts to flood into the bottom floor of my building unit so a little bit of time until it can breach that. The inflatable berm is there to add to where there isn't a berm on the buildings next to mine. Will tell my downstairs neighbors that I can store anything that they can't get out if it does get to that point.

This is what is over us right now. Pretty much 99% chance of rain until Wednesday!

Lots of photos but just trying to compare. Just took King out for his last walk of the night and the water is high and moving fast! Large masses of 50+ft trees with their trunks from up river are being swept down river and you can hear loud bangs from them banging against the rocks below. We had a huge tree get beached on the shore about a year and a half ago and it withstood a lot of rising water, but as if today it is long gone now. I always just find it amazing seeing how powerful water is in real time. It's a no-brainer as to why, but seeing it happen never gets old.

Yup, we're getting pissed on bigly. I'm more worried about trees coming down around here.
If it floods enough, our small town becomes an island and we'll be stuck until the water recedes.

The river is almost there. It stopped raining for now but that doesn't mean shit if it's still raining south of me. It's a couple more feet from cresting the last berm and flooding the lower units. That could only be 2-3hrs from now if it's still rising. What I don't understand is no one has filled the flood barrier so it's just sitting there about to be washed away.

My unit is the top floor light in the 2nd to last photo.
