Prayers to all the TX families affected by the terrible flash flood.
Granddaughter was at Mystic week before last, in the same cabin that got swept away. The owner who was killed taught her group how to fish - they all loved him. Her (older) stepsisters’ friends have kids at Mystic who were lost. The counselor from Houston had just graduated from my high school. Hits really hard - especially thinking about what those 7 and 8 year old girls went through in their last minutes.
Canada still on fire and their smoke is back. Their net zero is so retarded.
Last time I checked, forest fires are carbon neutral, right? All that wood eventually would rot, releasing the carbon.
Living forests sequester carbon and slow release during decomposition. Trees harvested for lumber obviously greatly delay release. Fires instantly stop all sequestration and release the Co2 and massive amounts of particulates. Now look at the picture and imagine how much wood has burned to go from central Canada - Dakotas- MN - WI - IA and from the surface to 30,000 feet. Crazy.
Right. But, carbon neutral- just like my fireplace.
Nice and hot here lately. 100 yesterday and about 95 today. I took the Shelby to a C&C with about 100 cars this morning before it got hot.
Incredible glowing red to orange smoke sunrise this morning.
Smoke doesn't want to let up. It keeps reminding me of the Canuck net zero goals and I end up laughing my ass off.
I keep forgetting about this. Only after I rub my eyes and scratch my ass do I realize why it seems so hazy outside when the sun is shining bright.

Finally a break in the high 90s heat. Got rain last couple of days and this morning 65 degrees.
My pool has been 90* the last few days, and that's with the cage over it. I've never seen it that warm, and there hasn't been any rain to cool it off in almost a week.

I'm thinking there's a dollar sign on that. No asos or awos I've ever seen reports vis like that.
Oh, it's in Iran...maybe it reports in km and is converting. Either way, I don't trust CONUS awos/asos 100%, let alone in the ****ing middle east.
