I hit my longest the other week with 25-30 mph tail wind LoL.

It was a provisional though, because I hooked my first shot very bad. Thought it was lost in the trees but we found it. That one was still 291..

On that note, 60° here on Sunday. It'll be the final round with the SM8 Vokeys. Booked a wedge fitting for the Monday ahead of Christmas.

Looks like I'll have to rent a cart from the clubhouse since mine is in a million pieces. Golfing in December rocks!

I wanted to get out last week but, weather is making it tough for the foreseeable future.

I did go get in front of some cameras and a Trackman at PGA Superstore. Time for the small tweaks. Went from 170-175 with my 7 iron to 185-190 with zero increase in club speed which is currently down about 3-4mph. I’m down about 5-9mph on my driver swing and still hitting 300+ yards.

The bigger takeaway was more consistency from all clubs. It was really some small things. Also, found out that when I think I am slowing down after a bad shot, I am not. The reduced yards are due to my mechanics thrown off trying to slow down.

It was eye opening to see where some issues were coming from and scary how little things make such a massive impact.

Just like the stockings by the fireplace, I’m hung.

Played 18 on Tuesday at Royal Oaks in Ocala.
Shave 9 strokes off my previous best there and shave 7 putts off my average. First round with new GW, SW, and LW along with new UW. I got the TM MG4 50*, 54* 1* weak, TM HiToe4 60*, and Callaway Apex 24 19* UW.

I have been working on fundamentals, really concentrating on tempo and sequence. The guys were shocked at the difference. We had just golfed the end of December and they said I was not the same golfer. I will have to work on the yardages as part of my mental game.
They increased as the round progressed.

Example, I am mentally thinking of my UW as a 240 club, it was the first few holes. Mid round I was hitting it 260ish. I stripped one pin high on the greens first cut, flag was 268 uphill. I play my 21* hybrid as a 220 club, nailed the green and ended up pin high on the first cut and the flag was 247. Shortest drive was 280, best was 305 into the wind and hit all four fairways I pulled the driver out on.

Going to continue my tempo and sequence work.

Went to Srixon’s Demo Day the next day and tried the new ZXi5 and ZXi7 irons. I was hitting decent, guy was looking at Trackman and said, “you have great ball and swing speed. Now, I know I start around 85mph and get to about 90 with a 7 iron. I thought I was slow as I was very sore. I said, I imagined I was down a few mph due to being sore and stiff and said I imagined I was 84-85mph and I know that is still good for my age. Guy said nope, last few shots you are cruising at 94mph with the 7i. lol! I kinda all went to shit after that. I got in my head I needed to back off to ensure strike was optimum and just ****ed myself mentally.

Sounds like a good round, deceptive. We are not on the same level LOL.

Played my 6th round of the year last night after work with my buddy. Really trying to focus on playing smarter golf this year. Put down an 84 at my local track late last year and have been chasing it ever since. Haven't shot above a 95 since, but the high 80's are just a kick in the nuts now. Speed control on the greens (lots of 3 putts) and 180-200 yard shots in are my weakest areas.

Nice. It feels good to get some stack some good rounds. I haven't got to play yet, our local course just opened but there is no green grass and it's still pretty cold outside.

I did get a Garmin R10 and setup an indoor simulator. Still getting the bugs worked out but so far it's pretty good for the $$$

Had to google it. First time hearing about the R10. I'll be curious to hear a review on it from you in a few months. Been talking about setting up a simulator behind the wash bay in the detail shop for next winter. It's hard to justify that kind of coin on a hobby that's already expensive enough as is.

If anyone has a simulator package recommendations in the $5k range, post 'em up!

Played a new to me course today. Some are opening up!

I be struggling really bad since last fall. And it continued today. It's like I lost my swing. Nothing feels right. It's been humiliating really.

Hitting almost everything thin, fat and behind the ball..........

I tried the SC4, SC5, and R10.

SC4 did everything I wanted it to for the most part. It seemed to capture the most shots.

SC5 was hot garbage. Like GT Premi pulling up to a chicken and waffles joint saying he forgot his wallet type garbage.

The R10 was nice, more features than the SC4, very compact, but would miss shots that were perfect club twirling shots.

If you just want a tool on the range, get the SC4.

If maybe a cheap home simulator or want to see what the unit perceives as ball flight, R10.

Interesting, so far this little unit has been very good. I did get the RCS Titlest balls, did you try those? A package of those is pricey but so far has been perfect with this unit.

Same here. All the snow is gone except for some formerly large piles of plowed snow which are now rather small. Temps near 70 today. I need to hit the driving range and putting greens for a while before I hit a course again.
