if its up to the dealership and not FORD on the price, then its the actual price.
I buy things from alibaba and resell. i can take a look at the market for a "suggested" price, this does NOT mean I must sell it for that. If I advertise a price and a buyer takes the deal, then the price is whatever he and I agreed to.

Stop bickering over your Utopian socialist dreams
So those many people who do actually get them at msrp are getting it for a deal? Lol.... Im all for the right of adding adms. Dont try and put that socialist crap in my mouth.
Its not THE price its THEIR price

You're right, that doesn't mean they must sell it at MSRP, but it's the fair thing to do.

Your comparison really isn't valid, as this is the scenario:

1.) MANUFACTURERS sell directly to ALIBABA.
2.) YOU buy from ALIBABA (distributor).
3.) YOU sell to consumer at what you see it.
4.) OR...ANYONE can skip you (3.) and buy directly from ALIBABA (2), eliminating any ADM.

1.) FORD only sells to Dealers (distributor).
2.) DEALER (distributor) sells to consumer at what they see fit, forcing ADM if consumer wants product.

As you can clearly see, it's not exactly the same thing unless we can order directly from FORD as there is no other option.

a deal is 2 consenting parties, so yes, whatever i feel worth paying, below, at or above SUGGESTED, is a deal if I - the CONSUMER- agree's to it.
socialism dictates the majority set the rate.

fair is whatever I- the consumer- says is fair. its not a necessity.

alibaba does not buy from manufacturers, so already showing out of your element, no need to address the rest of the incorrect statements after that

What is so utterly ironic is that the group of people that buys these types of vehicles are usually well versed on the product, sometimes more so than those they purchase it from. They understand how it operates and many are capable of improving it over and above they way it was originally equipped. They support the brand through a number of different venues. Yet they get the biggest slap in the face when they act via an attempt at purchasing.

That's life I guess. In the end I suppose it makes you stronger, albeit a little bitter too. But if you want something bad enough you find a way and you make it happen.

Alibaba is a SUPPLIER that works with MANUFACTURERS to sell products directly to individuals and companies, they don't make the products they supply.

So yes, technically they don't "buy" from the manufacturers, rather they supply in the avenue for you to buy directly from the manufacturers.

Anyone that is justifying ADM's to dealers is clearly a greedy person.

Yea, where did I say anything about a set rate? My entire point is that it is not a set rate. Claiming 90k is THE price because some dealers mark up is exactly wrong, it is their price, which people pay, that's fair, but that does not mean other people do not pay less. Meaning you cant generalize that the gt500 is 90k. I remember following the gt350 thread on 6G and tons of people were getting them at msrp, the fact that not everyone can is just too damn bad. Thats capitalism

ok, so we agree that you were wrong before, and now that the price is determined by the customers. got it. thanks for helping enlighten yourself

sorry, probably getting a bit excited dealing with the kid above, but yes, the price, is the price that you pay. doesnt matter what is suggested. Doesnt matter what its goin for 20 miles down the road if your not willing to go there.

The price is , the agreed upon price. this is 100% individual. You felt like shopping on amazon vs me shopping at lowes for a box of nails, doesnt mean the price is the same, in fact, guaranteed they will be different, for different reasons. I paid more because i wanted them right now, you dont care about when u get them. see?

I dont know why this has to be discussed. its literally the textbook definition of "Price"

Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. I understand if you go to one dealership and they wont budge on adm then, well yea the price you pay is the total cost. But the price of car itself, in north america is the MSRP, not what some joe blow dealer tries to get on top, thats on the people who aren't lucky to be on a list for msrp and have to have it now. Worst case is you wait a year and if you travel are more of less guaranteed an msrp deal. ADM always dies unless we are talking laferraris.

Again, im speaking about the car in general, not certain sales.

if a consumer and a seller make a deal, the cost =price. its not semantics. the price is the aount you agree to pay for the car. very very basic words

suggested is not absolute, your final price on the documents are

WILL NOT PAY ADM! And I will have one.

NO ONE should pay the dealers ADM. if you pay ADM, you are STUPID.
This is a mass produced car that will be made to meet demand by Ford. (Just like previous GT500's).
Ford will set a fair and reasonable MSRP. Why let the dealers screw it up? If the dealers ask for ADM, tell them to shuv it.

I agree with this approach, but if customers like you and I who won't pay ADM want to purchase this car, it will require patience and perhaps a waiting game until the second MY release.

Thats possible. I may not be the first to get one. Yes, it could easily stretch into the second year. But who cares? Better to wait a bit and not pay the adm!

I put money down on one tonight actually. For MSRP. Have my sales slip for the “dealers list” and i know my place in line. It was the second dealer i went to that was promising me MSRP tonight.

I was able to put money down on one at MSRP. Im very grateful, but at the same time, frustrated since its going to be a long long way off.

Its all a crap shoot with these Ford dealers! Ford has a great product and their engineers are second to none. But certain (larger) dealers in the dealership network are slowly strangling Ford to death over these cars. Especially in PA and NY. This may be the last Ford i try to buy. All depends on how this purchase goes.

I didnt buy a 13GT500 because of adm. Finnally gave up and bought a new vette and a new Challenger instead and modded my original owner 08GT500 with a TVS. Ford has lost several car sales due to ADM with me over the years. The dealers dont care. All they care about is the profit on a few units. Ford loses since its less units sold and brand loyalty of their best customers completely DESTROYED. Less performance parts sold, and less family cars sold out of my frustration.

But no, i would never morally pay over msrp for a car! That would be ridicuous. And no matter what the dealers tell you, the GT500 never has been and continues to be, NOT limited edition! So in this example, its never made any sense.

I was patient when i tried to buy an 07. Refused to pay over sticker and got an 08 half way through the year at msrp. It will happen if you are patient.

this thread makes me laugh.

KBB calculates their pricing based on analyzing transactions, not MSRP. Its the same thing everyone here is doing, but when the transaction price is above MSRP there is a subset of people who refuse to buy... Fine.

It does not change the transaction price and anyone buying at fair market value can also sell at fair market value thereby nobody is throwing money away.

Depreciation is depreciation. Being the first joe in your state with a GT500 will get you some positive attention, expect to put a value on it.

Don't pay ADM, get one after the prom queen is already riding in mine, only one of those too and everyone is happy

Agreed. The ppl paying ADMs rationalize it in many ways in order to feel better about the financial decision they made.

There will always be ppl that at some point, just have enough cash to over pay for things. Everybody knew that kid in school.

Its all just opinions and individual circumstances and that's what feeds the ADM machine.

In the end, The trick is to run out of breath and money at the same time.
