Yes, Mav 88 stock pump has molded in action bars and cant accept a new forend. The Mossberg 6 3/4" action tube isnt very popular or common and doesn't have much in the way of forends. However it was $30 cheaper than the more standard 7 5/8"s. Using the Hogue nut as suggested by a reviewer on Midway USA and a little dremeling, its like it was made for this setup with the Magpul 590 forend. I also like the Mav 88 push button safety just forward of the trigger as opposed to the tang safety on my old Moss 500. Tang is great for traditional stocks, but a pistol grip makes taking on and off safe awkward, at least to me. I got used to it on the 500, but with the pistol grip on the Kicklite the button safety doesnt make me take my hand off the grip when I want/need to go hot. This dumpy lil Mav 88 has really grown on me. Whats really cool is Mossberg 500 and I think 590 barrels will swap right over, and the bolt is identical. I noticed that the barrel gets hot after a tube of shells has gone through. As you can see it has no heat sheild on it right now so thats probably got a bit to do with it. Dont feel like frying my face! The 500 I owned before had a factory installed heat shield, so I think thats my next mod.
