If i remember right, your use would be an enclosed car hauler and maybe an RV down the road? To make a good recommendation, you really want to have an idea of what you plan to use the truck for. We could open a huge can of worms, but realistically, if you EVER plan to buy an RV that weighs over 10k lbs, do yourself a favor and buy the diesel (any brand) for peace of mind while towing. If you are confident you will only haul the car hauler and an RV 10k lbs or under, buy the nicest gas truck you can find in your price range and dont lose any sleep. The Ford 7.3 has proven to be leagues better than the Ram 6.4. I have not read much about the GM gas offering, but their interiors are about a decade behind Ram and even Ford (less so, however) so i'd pass on GM myself. The 2020+ Powerstroke is a BEAST and is easily the fastest stock modern diesel in a drag race. The Cummins is a tried-proven motor with the most torque, but loses in a straight line to the Ford. The GM Duramax is, again, several years behind Ram and Ford. There are Ram dealers offering 8-10, even 12% off of MSRP on a special order--yes even today. I ordered mine in back in March and got 14.2% off MSRP. I think that would be hard to duplicate today, but good deals can still be had on the Ram trucks. The Fords are more expensive and have an interior that is not as nice as the Ram offerings trim levels being equal.
