The car is driving very nicely and no worries. With that said, I have continued to think about how the car is meeting performance expectations with all the work that has been done and feedback provided by a variety of sources. There are a lot of clues that I was working back and forth and decided to go down to DB Performance and talk things over with Danny. The primary clue was that the boost the car was making just didn't match expected HP and TQ on any comparable (as close as I could find) 4.6 mod motor. The boost curve itself was not matching and while belt slip might be part of it, did not seem like all of it. Part of this puzzle is that I am probably Danny's most vexing customer I do listen to his input, but I am not afraid to tell him I want to go a certain way or use a certain part. He is willing to go along with this because I never bitch when I **** up and I always pay him, LOL. Anyway, I was running over my concerns and he pulled up my dyno chart so we could look it over. I asked him if he could overlay any comparable 3V charts. He overlayed a stock cam and comp stage 2 cam 2.6 kenne bell. I about ****ing fell over. The problem, with absolutely no hard feelings to anyone, is that Crownaviation (1st buyer of a SPEC R who was killed in a car accident) never got a chance to make it to the dyno. The cam he had L&M design and build to aid streetability worked exactly as designed, it limited the bottom end TQ. I personally think Crown would have gone with another cam once he found out how badly this cam hurt TQ and HP. I ordered the same cam as my salute to Crown, no regret. So, based on what Danny and I thought was the issue, Danny gave the owner of Bullet cams a call. He basically confirmed our suspicions and based off specs on my car he is building a set of cams that should perform quite a bit better, I hope. So, waiting for cams to be built and Jason is fabbing up the pulley mounts so I can improve belt tension. When I have all the parts in hand, will try and slot into Danny's schedule and see what happens. The red line is the stock cam 3V. The black line is the COMP stage 2 3V and the blue line all the way to 7,000 + RPM is mine (the worst performing).
