The MT82 problems are not a sure thing on every car. I no joke probably had 300 street passes on mine in the 7,000 miles I put on my '13. WOT shifting all but a few times. STOCK SHIFTER. Transmission was smooth as could be, only notchiness was when cold.... In the winter. I had a good one, though.
While I'm sure a lot of the cases are legitimate (ESPECIALLY THE CLUTCH RELATED ONES), i think a lot of people are 1. allowing the drivetrain to unload too much on shifts, which causes the transmission end of the linkage to move and 2. unconsciously guiding the shifter, instead of letting the cemtering springs do their thing. Between the 2, binding will happen.
