Perfect read with my morning cup of coffee. Good luck with your surgery!

Yeah, that Rapid Red (IMO) is one great paint color. Fell in love with it after seeing Goose's GT-500.

This is the main regret I have of selling my '14 GT500; will I miss rowing gears? I'm not at all upset about the new DCT and I know it's the cats ass, I just wonder if part of me (the nostalgic part) will miss making crisp shifts down a long, straight, well-paved road in cool air.

    Regardless, I can't wait to order a new GT500.

Haha yeah. Grandpa is Chuck. Started the store in 1974. He resides in Palm Springs December through May. When he's in town, he'll come hang out for a few hours 2 or 3 days a week.

Thanks for all of the kind words Tob.

Glad your beast was finally released Tob. Let the dis-assembly begin. If you need someone to flog it on the track for you, I'm available and you know my number. ;)

White seems to be the most popular color by far. Seems like everyone is getting non track pack cars too. Looks good, enjoy.

Tob, did nick try to arrange any transport for you? Like having ford ship it to a local Ford dealer based off his allocation or a transport company? This does not sound like a good experience. I get the excitement of a new GT500 but did I read correctly you smoked a full size raccoon in Missouri on the way back in your new GT500 while listening to Motown after pimp smacking yourself?

Partial disassembly underway to inspect and clean. Working on developing a caliper stud for this Shelby too as the knuckle bores look to be about .090" deeper than the GT350 knuckle. Waiting on prototypes from my man Curtis in Mooresville. And when we meet up again at the Glen the keys are yours but I get to ride along.:)

There were some thread polls I've seen where Rapid Red, Orange, and black looked to be more popular than Oxford White. But you're onto something as I too have noticed a heck of a lot of white cars lately. As to the majority getting base cars, no doubt due to limited CFTP availability and price. I wanted one but bailed when I saw how much of a $truggle it was going to be to get one.

The plan from the outset was to be able to shake Nick's hand and to see the heartland on the way home. I've been everywhere in the country but the midwest. But the constant delays pushed this car into the cold season and once it was produced it was way too late for a courtesy delivery which Nick would have done if I had asked in time - so that was totally on me. Regardless, I shook hands and got to see everything at night.;)

I hit the raccoon in silence. THUD. No radio playing, face had yet to be slapped, and I was only about 15-20 miles from Nick's dealership.

Got it! I was referring to the post sale driving experience portion of the trip. Transportation is expensive and enclosed even more so. Glad to know these can vaporize anything in their path! Gorgeous GT500, great sale experience, and what a journey home! Looking forward to seeing you post updates and need more pictures!

Shipping isn't that expensive. About $0.85/mile open, or $1.50/mile enclosed.

Something I forgot to address. The gentleman Nick tasked with prepping the car did a superb job. Nick introduced me to him and I could tell right away he was a seasoned veteran. On the subject of how the GT350 splitters were universally installed incorrectly - mine was wrong on my GT350 and I ended up reinstalling it as well as an R splitter later, so I knew exactly what was involved. I felt much better at Anderson Ford knowing it would be done right the first time. When I mentioned this to Nick's mechanic (I apologize for forgetting his name) he pointed out to me that the GT500 splitter used all screws and no pushpins. The half moon clips are no longer used either. So when it comes to varmints boinking off of it at speed I'm quite a bit more confident with it over the setup used on the GT350.

    Very happy for you buddy!
Looking forward to hearing your ongoing reviews and mods.
I’m hoping to join the family by ordering my next car from Nick this year.
SVTP will now be a better place.
And man, you just convinced me to order that cover!
