Also, when he sells that car, he's not going to have a $20K terminator, with $20K in mods, that he can't even sell for $18K because buyers will be saying that the car is modded and beat to hell.
The problem with spending $10K-$15K is that it's a loss and is not as reliable. We've all seen it. Guy spends tons of money modding a car....and it's never really $10K-$15K. You always end up spending more money. Parts start breaking, etc. I had a 99 Cobra, Paxton blown with supporting mods that I spent money on, loss on mods. I had a 95 Cobra, Vortech blown with full MM suspension that I modded to hell, loss on mods. Had a 95 Cobra R, Vortech blown with supporting mods, again, loss on mods. I had a 90GT with mods, etc. etc. Let's not forget the people who damage cars, blow motors, etc. modding their cars....what do we tell them....."you play, you pay". What about the people who break things then are looking to take mods off so they can get it fixed for free at the dealership? Now, because of all that, I keep the cars stock. Intake, exhaust....that's it, not even a pulley anymore. At least the guy who buys the 2020 GT500 can have a car that has a warranty, tested by Ford, etc. He can pull away and how have to worry about breaking halfshafts, blowing transmissions, melting pistons, etc. and if it does happen, he can take the car right in for warranty work. Also, when he sells that car, he's not going to have a $20K terminator, with $20K in mods, that he can't even sell for $18K because buyers will be saying that the car is modded and beat to hell. He'll pay $70K and the depreciation will not be as steep. A 2014 GT500 was a $60K car 5 years ago and it's selling used for around $50K.
