tablets for playing movies

My 3 year old android tablet is past its prime. Not even sure what make or model, just something I picked up cheap on groupon a few years for like $60.

I have located a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 for $102 shipped. it's in used but good condition. will that play .mp4 movie files without being really choppy and is that a fair price for it?

Need this to put in my work truck so when the bad weather forces me to shut down, I have something to watch in the truck to keep me occupied.

We have a Kindle HDX 8.9 and a Nexus 10. Both have been out for quite a while now and they both play/stream movies just fine.

Any tablet will be able to play movies (I still use my Nexus 10). If I were in your position I'd be looking for a widescreen tablet with front facing speakers.
