I'm curious if anyone has held them side by side. I'm sitting here finding used t5 shifters on ebay and obviously t56's are much harder to come by but it looks to me like MGW's shifter are identical minus the base. Seems to me you could cut off the extra, drill two holes and and have the same shifter? The height and everything looks the same so it looks like the same throw but does anyone know?

Look at the two rear holes, they are much closer to the handle on the t56. To answer your ridiculous question, no this will not work and for your pockets sake I encourage you not to try

Tough crowd.... Moving bolt holes around isn't much of an issue.

Thanks for your input on my "ridiculous question."

But in case anyone else ever wondered the same thing the center shaft and the springs are different, per the manufacturer.
