Has anyone done this yet? If so what all did it take to complete. Thanks
It would be cheaper to just sell the ecoboost, take the hit and buy a 5.0. JMO. As far as has anyone done it? I doubt it.
I see no reason anyone would ever do this. Even if you bought a new ecoboost and turned around and traded it in a month later, you would still spend less than the amount it takes to buy and swap in a 5.0.
This thread has to be a joke.
That's what I was thinking.
LS3! in it
2jz swap would be way cooler
Ummmm I might know of a BIW that's made its way to a "shop"
First one I believe. Sold for $1
So there is a kinda swap going on! Hahaha
I think he means pushrod 5.0
This, with one exception. If you're building a 'race car' go for it. In that instance you won't need the gauges and other electronics to work.
I have a built Coyote 5.0engine/2.9 Whipple that I would be swapping in to the 15, even if it's a 5.0 base. I just noticed that the 2.3 ecoboost Performance package premium was quite a bit cheaper and was curious.
I actually have a control pack and racepak IQ3 that I could swap in as well, but would prefer the stock cluster.
Get a base 5.0 15. Swap the engine and whipple in. Then sell the stock longblock with 10 miles on it and recover some cash. Get a tune. Call it a day.
It'll be a nightmare getting the electronics to work properly for a street car.
Screw that, Ford GAA Sherman tank engine swap.
Ahhhh. I guess we should not have ASS-U-ME-d. That's going to be a bad-ass car. I do think it would still be cheaper to just go with the 5.0 though. You'll get more money for the engine you pull out of it too.
Thats what I figured, but doesn't hurt to ask. I'm just going to go with a 5.0 and be done with it. I have a few cars the stock engine will go good in anyways.
