Thank you very much, a very good lesson learned for me. I lost a lot in 1987 and I should have remembered that.
Basically, their asset sheets got pummeled by a reevaluation when things were tight and they took a loss on some long term bonds? Which caused a bank run, correct?
There's seems to be thought that this could become widespread, but wouldn't most banks have the same issue? And if they're running from one, they're moving to another (or more), which would help those, correct?

Help me out here. FED has a backup fund with 100 billion to protect over a trillion of paper losses. Probably over 2 trillion. Discount window will be open so you can roll those losses for a year, then what? If Fed leaves rates high or long rates go up you are more on the hook. 1929 started in 28.
So then, they ARE getting a bailout?
Amazing how they got Yellen rousted out of whatever depraved activity she is up to on a Sunday afternoon and got the massive bureaucracy of the Federal government moving at lightning quick speed to save the capital of hard corps coastal leftists (who are no doubt massive donors to the DNC).

Unless I’m misreading, they’re guaranteeing all deposits.
Bank will still be on the hook but they’ll just file bankruptcy I’m sure.
