I replaced my cams last year and no one said anything about replacing the blower bypass valve. At what vacuum reading is the stock valve set for and should I replace it?

I'm running a KB 2.8 with JDM cams and got my low vac bypass direct from KB. It's just a diaphragm with no spring in it and a red plug. Cheap and easy.

I made this inquiry to VMP, considering they specialize on the TVS. The reply I received was that I do not need to replace the valve...... and that the TVS will come with one. Nothing said about whether it is a low-vacuum valve or not... I've got to wonder...

Reach out to L&M. As far as I know, they are the only ones that make the low vacuum bypass for TVS. I'm not an expert but I think you have potential to damage your SC if you don't have this.

Considering it takes 15 lbs. of vacuum to close the by-pass and 10 lbs. of vacuum to keep it closed, your by-pass valve isn't doing its thing.
