I used this forum in high school / college ~15 years ago, and it was really one of the best. I remember lots of good advice and conversation.
One thing that's clearly changed a lot since then is the stratification of topics really seems out of control. Makes it very difficult to know where to post something that doesn't neatly fit into exactly one category. Also, folks that only browse certain sub-forums are blind to potentially useful information which is coming up in adjacent sub-forums. Some categories are certainly needed, but this does seem excessive.
