[QUOTE="FJohnny, post: 16074436, member: 191643"] Ummmm.....can I change my answer? Oops. After spending over the last 25 years teaching my 3 kids about personal responsibility and having them accept and live those lessons so well I come out with that really dumb comment. I think Ocasio-Cortez is a naive dope with no idea about the real world. And I'm pretty sure I just came off sounding like her twin brother. Sorry about that. I believe that anyone who took the loans should have had all the facts and should live with the results of their decisions. How crazily unfair would it be to every taxpayer who didn't send their kid to college due to cost and all those others who actually paid off their loans if the rest of the loans were now forgiven. Unjust, unfunded and really dumb. I may have gotten bogged down and misspoke because I also believe that it is not okay for some rich guy's kid get all the opportunities in education simply because of birthright. I don't begrudge the rich kid getting to go despite being lazy and unqualified. The rich guy earned it for his kid. But the poor kid who works his butt off and achieves excellence deserves an equal chance. It is flat out wrong that he lose that chance because he had the wrong mom and dad. I'm proud of my three girls who were born into lucky circumstances and yet still worked hard, excelled and earned scholarships to fund their way through university. But I quite happily pay pretty high taxes to ensure that other deserving kids won't miss the chance. Anyway, sorry to sound like a supporter of deadbeats and welchers. I screwed up. All the best.
