Strut tower brace question

[Lugi 98 SVT]

Why is it that the 98's don't have a factory strut tower brace on them whereas the 96 + 97's do???

Someone gave me one from a 97. Will it fit? It looks like the holes are dimples in the fender-well and my intake pipe has the same "dent" in it as the 97'.

Ford probably removed the STB to cut production costs. It will fit but you may have to drill new holes.

Same reason for the cast iron block in the 2003. ;-)

I had read (and take it for what it's worth) that Ford had found there to be no difference handling-wise with or without it on, so they deleted it. :shrug:
