True Story :) Ford made the decision purposefully, to limit production, this time around. I actually talked to Jim Owens about it, in person at length. I dont want to directly quote him too much, but one thing he said that will forrever stick out in my memory, was (He knew I had an 08 GT500 I bought new, and we were trading notes since he bought a KR in 08...) "Yes, but we made too many of them before.. they became too common place" "we're going to limit production this time around and take them up market." And I looked at him, with a hundred thoughts going through my head about "That is against everything SVT stands for, and what about getting the performance into the working man's hands.. What about the "Bang for buck" quotient? Etc et etc... And I just thought to myself.. Shut up, and go buy a Red eye. LOL He also talked about how they (Ford Corp) knew the dealers were gouging for the GT500's and he went on for quite a bit about how MSRP was just that, a suggested price, and they not only condoned, but encouraged the dealers to get whatever they could for them... Its was at that moment, in person at Carlisle no less, at the actual GT500 intro, while I was looking at him, I knew how far Ford had Fallen and that I was going to buy a hellcat. LOL. And keep my 08GT500 as a parting prize.
