How much power can the GT engines handle on the stock internals? And for anyone with forced induction... did you have to make any other expensive upgrades in order for the engine to handle the extra power?

U dont want to push over 370 to the RW. U might want to go with forged stuff there after. I had a dude on a GT do a sneak attack on me & he had 425HP to the rear wheels. Thats about 470 at the flywheel.
He did change alot of parts but dude it will still be cheaper then a Cobra & u can do the same thing & surprise folks.

ive got a buddy with a GT with the stock short block with 440RWHP, with a vortech V2-SQ.

He's got a return-style fuel system, and a bunch of other goodies. He had about 16LBS of boost and was making around 425, until he replaced his headers with long-tubes. He lost about 5-6 LBS of boost, but made 440RWHP.

Oh yea, he's still got the stock cat-back. That thing is a sleeper. Its a 99 35th aniversary, that looks like a 6-cylinder, except it has dual exhaust.

He plans on upgrading to forged internals very very soon.
It runs great in the mean-time.
