So apparently my car failed because some sort of comm issue with the PCM.. everything else passed except that, they said i need to go to Ford and them to program the PCM to factory settings, I thought i had already done that with the SCT module but i guess theres something wrong with the coding???

Something about if your car was ever tuned it changes that digit forever and the only way to fix it is by having Ford reset it. I could be wrong but i think i remember seeing this on another state ref thread.

Since you have to have ford give you a the stock calibration have them update to the lastest version along with the tag that goes under the hood to show program it to the lastest calibration.

if you do end up buying another pcm, fordtechmakuloco youtube has a video of this exact scenario and how ford is able to program it to your car alot cheaper. they don't always want to and will tell you it can't be done, but he walks through the steps.

im considering just biting the bullet and registering out of state so tired of this pussified California Bullshit.

I was going to suggest that or moving, but didn't want to be an ahole. Haven't had an emissions test in over 20 years, since I got the hell out of IL.

“They’re” making it more and more difficult to beat the system. And more and more expensive.

you know bob, when trump got elected i was hoping that things would loosen a bit with all this epa and emission crap. but it's almost like california got even more strict with this crap within the past few years! and i didn't think that was even possible lol

California did that because the politicians in that state hated trump. Politicians want full socialism-communism for the power and money.

Ford will have to program it. You will not be able to just put another pcm in. But that plan could work.

its 225 for the programing, another pcm is about 250ish then to also program or "recalibrate" another 225..or $1000 bucks to register in another state and do whatever i want..
Yup they did on purpose to rub it in Trumps face.
