if I remember right mine use to do that at WOT when it was stock. Now with the valve body, exhaust, KB, and slew of other mods I dont hear it but it could very well still be there. I know I have heard of other guys with the same problem and I think its belt related. Do you have an aftermarket idler setup??
That's probably it. An aux idler setup will help with that. You should check your belts too. A lot of slip can cause them to glaze over and not grip as well.
I have the same problem occasionally under WOT. Looking at the idler pulley it looks glazed over. Think it's time for some new idler pulley and tensioner.
I had a 2000 f150 which did that. It didn't stop until I raised the rev limiter with a hypertec programmer. Seems to happen when the motor hits the rev limit while its shifting. My Lightning stopped doing it once it was tuned.
