My girlfriend and I are going to go to Las Vegas for a week in mid April (15th-22nd).:pepper:
I have never been there so I figured I'd ask my SVTP brethren.
I have no clue on where the best places are to stay for the money. Also since neither one of us are big gamblers what are some great places and things to do there? Any other advice would be wonderful!

A week?!? Good luck!

I did that once and vowed never to do it again. Vegas is a great time! So much so that about 2 days in and you'll need a vacation from it!

We took a bus tour to the West Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. It was like $300ish for both of us to go, definitely worth it because we never saw either and would never make a trip of just doing to the GC (maybe once we got older), although for some odd reason we were the only Americans on that tour?? I'd see if there are any shows going on that would interested you while you're there. And stay somewhere with an awesome pool! Don't do the VIP party bus tour, that was a waste of money.

Go to Exotics Racing and race an Aventador (or any other supercar they have) on a real road course! At least that what I did the last time I was in Vegas!

I highly recommend staying at the Aria!!!

That's where we are staying next week.
We normally stay at the Bellagio, but decided to try Aria this time for a change.

OP - If you get a chance, have dinner, or even just dessert, at Serendipity 3 in front of Caesars Palace. The portions are ridiculous, but everything is delicious.

Also, go to the Mojito bar in front of Caesars Palace for a refreshing Mojito.
We start every day with one of these. :)

Do the $20 trick when you check in for room upgrade and strip view. Last time I booked a room without a view and slipped a 20 in between my credit card and DL, then she was like "oh I can upgrade you for free to a Corner Suite with view of the strip."

There should be a Vegas sticky...

I have stayed at many places on the strip but have been going back to MGM the last 4 or 5 times. I always recomend you stay somewhere in the middle of the strip like The Flamingo so that you're in the middle of everything.

Take good walking shoes, thank me later.

Make your way to Freemont Street on Friday or Saturday night, it's always a good time.

If you're going to see a show, look for the big coke bottle not far from the MGM, they have half price show tickets.

Sundance helicopter tours is always a good way to see the grand canyon and strip.

Bang a hooker....That's all I got for now.

We just got back from vegas, try to make it out twice a year and always stay at Planet Hollywood except for the trip prior we stayed at Cosmopolition which was fantastic but a bit spendy as it had just opened. If you're looking for good food you will literally find it anywhere, we had a great dinner at Joes Steak House in Caesars if you're looking for a nice place it's a good option. My go to midnight food option is Earl of Sandwhich in planet hollywood, their meatball sub is out of this world. Holestines in Cosmo is awesome too, they have amazing Shakes that you can get with alcohol ;). I too would suggest hitting freemont street on Fri or Sat night, it's always a good (crazy) time down there. There are a ton of landmarks and shows to see, I am not one for shows but I know that Jersey Boys is great and O was pretty impressive also.

As for gambling, I love Planet Hollywoods vibe. They have great music, dealers are always great, and they have smoking hot girls dancing after 9pm. I have had great luck at New York New York casino and really enjoy playing there, you really can't go wrong while you're out there. A week would kill me, but if you pace yourself you should survive.

This!

I've done the Vegas thing a lot, and honestly two-three days is the max I will spend. After that it almost feels like work.

I am very tempted, being brought up in the SCCA and the fact that my 30th is here in may.

So what hotels are the best bang for the buck? I'd love to have a two person tub but its hard to find out if the places have it. I just need to get one soon.
Thanks for all the replies so far guys, and keep them coming.

Swing by Shelby's place at the race track, make sure to see the Hoover Dam. Walk the strip at night, it's a dump during the day. Save enough money to make it home.

What does something like that cost??

The cheapest I've seen is for around $200 for 5 laps in a Porsche, $300 for a entry Lamborghini or Ferrari and about 5-600 for the Aventador.
Personally I'd love to play in a Ford GT:rockon:

Anyone know any promotions or discounts for the Aria or other nice hotels there? The Aria looks great but it'd take a lot of the vacation budget money to stay there all week.

How is the Flamingo?
It seems reasonable and with Margaritaville downstairs it has caught the attention of my inner parrot-head lol.
