I would deffinitely check alignment. I went through some Yokohama Advans quick because my alignment was off... The NT05 should get you around 10K miles.

To be honest, I am curious about the R888 myself now. With all the positive reviews people are giving them for performance, coupled with the fact that they are lasting 20K miles?! That sounds like it is either the best tire ever, or an extremely optimistic spin on actual performance.

I'll never run another street tire, other than these in the back now. Awesome tires. This is my second set, I got about 23-24k miles on my last set. Dead hooked my car from a 40roll on nitrous(700+ ftlbs) and are great in the rain. They are a little pricey, but they are worth every penny.[/QUOTE]

thanks for this... was going to ask what to replace a 335 nitto DR on my 10in saleens.. love the bulge and want to keep it, but nitto sizes are so different than any other tire.

I'm currently wondering the same thing. I need some new rear tires BAD, and am between the 305 and 315 R888's. I would go with the 315's for sure, but I am running saleens replicas that are only 10" wide. Honestly that pic that someone posted earlier in the thread with 315's on didn't look bad at all to me. But it sounds like 305's may be the better choice. Please post pics when you get yours Bdubbs, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

I will, and I already have some side shots with the nitto 555r's 305/35/18 so it will be nice to see a comparison.

If I'm not mistaken, they already come heat cycled already. Swore I read that when I was shopping for them on different websites last night.

Heat cycled from Factory? Or are you talking about a website ? I ordered my 275 r888's from Tirerack and they had an option to hear cycle them for $15 a tire so I got that feature. Now I'm curious if I got screwed $30 bucks haha I'm ordering my 315's soon.

Whelp just more feedback that you've all heard.. My Cobra is making 640rwhp SAE with 4.10's and a 6spd.. Just got back from a spin.. Dead hooks in 2nd at 4k, and powershifting 3rd and 4th.. Dead hooks.. This is with the tires at normal temp btw.. Not dropped down at all.. So people are are nervous about it NOT hooking.. Fear not.

Looking at the specs the 305/35 R888 is a better choice over the 315, the contact patch is the same and it's a half inch taller

got any side shots?

hows the ride quality?

its not as bad as i thought it would be.....

+1. Mine should be here today!

EDIT: Just got mine! And there bigger than the nitto 555r's thats for sure! I've been tossing the thought around about going with AFS 03-04 cobra wheels, and that would give me a 10.5" rim for the rears. Machined or chrome is the part that's hard to decide, if I go this route.
