I'm assuming you just want one for drag racing your 11 second car. I understand that a serious crash is unlikely, but a helmet is one thing I would urge you to reconsider cheaping out on.

I personally would never trust an open face helmet.

While I appreciate your opinion, every time I go to Irwindale the trailored big inch king of the hill boys are mostly wearing open face helmets. I just don't want to pay $400 for an open face Bell helmet.

Except it is a motorcycle helmet not designed for things you'll likely impact inside a car interior. Different specs and different certification tests.

I think Simpson has a factory store in harbor city. I haven't made the drive to go check it out but I'm in the market for a new helmet as well as mine has expired this coming new year.

I only paid 600 for my carbon fiber Simpson.

Where at?

The Simpson store in Harbor City. My club arranged a tour of the uniform production line there. they also offered 10% off for everyone. They have blems there that are often pretty well priced. I figured my old neck muscles would appreciate a super light helmet.

I am using HJC, and its wired from PCI radios, worth every penny. try not to skimp on safety. its something you never want to test, but can be the difference from walking away or being a vegetable.(don't buy a fly helmet)

That's a good deal.

On black Friday I got a Bell M.8 Carbon for $660, I had never seen it lower than $799 so I went for it and I'm glad I did. I've been using my current cheapo HJC M2005 for like 10 years now. I figure if I keep it for 10 years, that's not much money per year.

I don't see any Hans or other neck restraint attachment points..... If your using factory 3 point belts there are hybrid systems that will work.
