Coming together nicely. What model Boyd Coddington wheels are those?

Pick your poison.

I can’t remember what they’re called. This particular style has been discontinued which made them more attractive to me. I wanted something different.

10,500 BTU unit didn’t cool the garage 1 degree! Felt cool standing 2” in front of the unit, but had no impact on the overall garage temp. Would love a split unit, but it would be visible sticking out the side of the garage from the street. Gotta sack up and get it done in the heat. Free sauna! Lol

Owning a small window unit, and a portable, I will tell you that the window unit works better as it removes more humidity.

Braved the heat and got a few steps closer to stabbing the new power plant in.

Started with relocating the battery. Originally bought a full relocation kit, but changed my mind and decided to get rid of the subwoofer. I bought a Moroso box and used the power wire from the amplifier. I’m going to return the stainless relocation kit.

First I dropped the fuel tank, so I could drill holes for the battery supports.

Moved the ground wire to the passenger sided. Drilled a hole for a bolt and washer.

Ran the power wire under the carpet, plumbed the vent line and trimmed the carpet around the battery box. Missed the mark and over cut

Mocked everything up

Under the hood, I grounded the battery wires to the radiator support

Terminated the starter wire and power supply. Connected to the power distribution box stud.

Next I pulled the fuel hat assembly. I purchased a 03/04 hat assembly and injectors last week for $100. Initially planned on using the double pump setup. After some thought, I decided a single pump is sufficient for NA motor.

I modified the stock fuel hat to accept a Walbro 465 pump which is much larger at the bottom.

Trimmed the bottom off the hat. The picture is right after the cut. I cleaned it up with a file before moving forward

Up next Stifflers tubular transmission support mount to make room for the 3” exhaust. May seem out of sequence, but there’s some logic to it.

I haven’t had the SFC’s welded in yet and the stock transmission support overlaps the SFC plane. I want to get the SFC’s installed now, so I can mock-up the torque arm to determine where the TA bracket needs to be welded to the SFC’s.

Once the motor is installed the fabricator can do the exhaust and TA brackets at the same time. Then we can ensure the new exhaust is coordinated with the suspension.

Tried to install the Stifflers transmission crossmember today, but hit a roadblock. I ordered TCB-M05 which, by description, appears to fit all 94-98 Mustangs.

The stock crossmember has the brackets and mount aligned. The Stifflers piece I received has a 4” offset

Looks like I should’ve ordered TCB-M10 instead

I had the first one in my 98 GT but had to buy the second one for the Cobra... Very well made and looks good.

Tried to pull with the front bumper on, but didn’t have enough clearance so we pulled the bumper. I needed to adjust it anyways.

Nice progress! What trans are you using?

T56 that I’ve had in the car for about a year. It’s a stock transmission with a B&M shifter.

There’s a post in this thread from the original install that shows what I needed to do to make it work in a car with a manual odometer and how I addressed the reverse lockout solenoid.

In short, Speedcal for the odometer and trimmed the lockout solenoid spring to reduce the tension.

Cleaned up the engine bay. Used soapy water in a spray bottle, brush and microfiber rags to get the dirt off. Spray wax and back to black on the plastic and rubber parts.

Chris Fix has a YouTube video showing this method. Took about hour and half. Could’ve spent much more time, but the goal wasn’t show quality.

Before and after photos

I had an unfortunate accident in the daily driver. Most importantly, there were no injuries.

The odometer literally just hit 50k. Truck was cherry. The insurance considered it a total loss. New supercharged 4-door coming soon.

Got the motor clean up and PBH accessory brackets installed.

I used flat black VHT engine paint, but it came out semi gloss and showed the texture of the covers, so I lightly sanded them smooth and used some trim black I had in the cabinet to get a flat finish. The difference can be seen between the valve cover and EGR plate. EGR has VHT in the photo, VC trim black.

Not sure if I’m going to put Mystic highlights in the letter imprints yet.

I made the mistake of cleaning the motor before I put the accessory kit on. The kit moves the alternator location and flips it around. To make clearance for the pulley there’s a few bosses that need to be ground off. This made a mess of my clean motor.
