As the title states, I recently purchased a slightly used (-1200miles) McLeod RST and a new McLeod steel flywheel. I was wondering if I have to get them balanced together.

From what I have read searching, some state that they just threw their new clutch and flywheel (different brands) on without balancing. Then some say you should have them balanced at a machine shop or a shop of the like. Still haven't found a straight yes or no answer though.

I also checked McLeod's site and found a quick write up on how to install their RXT clutch into an 03 Cobra. They mentioned FW resurfacing if needed but nothing about getting it balanced. So I'm at a bit of a loss here.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure of balancing but I'm pretty sure u need to unbolt the damper from clutch fork to have enough adjustment

Not sure if you still need an answer...... absolutely balance the package together! Though in a perfect world both units ship new neutral balanced, they are never perfect.

My machinist will never let a clutch package go out the door without balancing.
