Let's see pictures of your Garage/Shop. please blur addresses please. I don't want anyones stuff scoped out. I'm just looking for ideas for my garage. I have an acreage and I'm tired of suburbia style 2 car garages, thinking of a 30x40 for my toys.

If you want some ideas for a garage/shop here are some of a buddy/neighbor of mine. It measures 60X80 I believe and has a 2-level bachelors apartment in the left side...and, a lift!! It's probably on a larger scale than you have in mind but take out the apartment and it should fit the bill pretty well. He had just remodeled the inside when I took these pics about a month ago...after using his lift to lower the L.

^^^ That's one of the coolest designed garages I've seen.

I'm guessing he's sitting on a decent sized lot? Is that just in his backyard??

I couldn't tell you what the cost was as he had it built about 15 years ago a little at a time so he could pay out of his pocket. He more less bought the structure as a kit and hired subs to erect, plumb, electrical, ect.
The building is actually on his parents property who deeded the 5 acres over to him. Their house, as well as his grandmother, brother, and a cousin also have dwelling on the property.

He is single (35 y.o) and travels the world during the World Superbike season so the apartment works out great for him. And, he has a place for all his "toys!!" He works for Troy Corser, a WSB road racer from Australia and is seldom home during the racing season.

Parents put up this 1750sf (35x50) garage last year or so. Still need to stain the concrete, get a lift, and cabinets.

Get 9' doors and a 12" roof or higher for a lift and get a couple 220V outlets just in case.

Looks great! I love the simplicity. Do you happen to have a picture of the garage door opener setup? Do they use a typical garage door opener you get at Sears (1/3 hp) or do they use something a little more industrial?

They used guides for the doors that tuck up closer to the roof for more clearance inside the garage and 3/4 hp motors.

My dad was the contractor and just hired different people for the different jobs. I believe start to finish on the garage was under $35k. A contractor quoted us $60k and we said no thanks haha

$35k doesn't sound bad at all. I have been thinking about renting out my current house and buying some land and building a house/garage how i want. I saved the pictures of your parent's garage, looks exactly like something I want. Thanks for the info/pics.
