I visited RWR Motorsports today to get my MGW Shifter and Stainless Steel (Clutch & Brake) Lines installed. Rob, Yvette, and their team provided GREAT service. They are a class act!

Technician Shawn Smith, who did the work, repeatedly escorted me into the service area so I could take pictures of the parts and process. I only had my cell phone camera with me, so the photos aren't very good, but I think you'll get the idea... He started out with the shifter. As has been pointed out previously, the OEM shifter is pretty flimsy.

MGW, OTOH, makes a QUALITY piece that it's a shame to "hide" beneath the console and under the car.

He moved on to the SS Lines I got from Van which, again, are far better quality that OEM.

I am cautiously optimistic about my 1st-2nd grind issue. It SEEMS to have been solved (or at least largely mitigated), but will have to see as I get used to the new shifter...

When the work was complete, we did a baseline dyno pull...

642RWHP / 621ft-lbs - Not bad for STOCK (w/JLT CF Intake and Airaid Filter, but I'm not sure those count as "performance" mods)...

Looks great I was thinking about doing a shifter upgrade. What are your reason for the upgraded clutch lines and brake lines? Those are strong numbers, car looks great as always

Glad you had great service! Curious to see if there's a difference from my shifter. Plan to change the number of turns on mine in the morning.

Thanks, guys! I was very pleased with the dyno results. Haven't had much driving time with the shifter (since I brought the car directly home to beat thunderstorms with possible hail and began detailing it for my first car show of the season, next week). That said, I enjoyed getting a feel for the new shifter on my ~40 mile drive home. Even with that limited frame of reference, I can say the MGW is much more solid and precise than OEM. It's currently set to 5, where I find the throw shorter than stock with the stick almost "clicking" into each gear - smooth, positive engagement.

Thanks, efroeh! I went with a SS clutch line after reading/hearing the OEM piece had at least one point/fitting that restricted fluid flow, possibly slowing clutch response and shift speed. I wanted SS brake lines because of how much they improved the brake feel in my truck. In the end, there's no denying the fact that SS lines are much more durable and less prone to expansion than rubber/plastic.

Thanks, NELCO! The biggest differences I notice are the improved traction and handling MPSS provide and the ease of cleaning Base wheels. MPSS are probably the single best upgrade anyone can make to these cars. They should have been standard equipment! In addition to liking the Base wheels' simple 5-spoke design, detailing them takes less than half the time the PP ones did. :-D

Awesome write up Norton and thanks for the follow up on the Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines and Clutch Line kit. Considering your location and altitude those dyno numbers are outstanding! I can only imagine what that thing will do with just a 13-6 Kit! Hint, Hint!! Congrats man.
