I'm looking for some rims and tires (slicks) for the drag strip. I'd like to have as much side wall as I can for the strip. I wanted some 15" rims with a 26" slick but my understanding is that the 15" rims won't fit with the IRS. What is the shortest rim size that I can put on with the IRS? I'm now looking at some 16" rims with a 26" slick.

Will a rims like this fit?

Size: 16x8
Back Spacing: 5.1" (129mm)
Offset: +15mm (0.6")

Thanks for any help! :)

You can use a 15" wheel with some modification. I've done it, as well as many others. If you want a bolt on setup, you can use a 16x10 with 6.5" backspace, or 16x8 with 5.5" backspace.

Oh ok. I didn't know you could use 15" rims. What kind of modifications are you talking about to get them to fit on?

Not trying to high jack but if someone was to go with the 16x10 what would be a good slick choice? I've heard 28"s are best on the IRS.
