Shifter help Please

Installing short throw shifter. How do you get the shifter boot and plastic trim off? On my fox body car the plastic just pulled up and clipped back down. I`m sure this works the same but I am pulling pretty hard and it won`t budge. Do not want to break it so is there any tricks? Or do I just need to give it a good yank?

Unscrew the knob

The plastic pulls off like you said.
