Friend had a SCT tune for his '11 GT. Thing really woke the car up, shifts were great for the auto. SCT says it gained 16.5 peak rwhp and 30 peak rwtq. Then he got a vendors e mail tune. The tune really felt no different than the SCT tune. Car is stock. When not running a CAI or other mods are the e mail tunes from Bama, BBR, Brenspeed ect just the same as the SCT canned tune? All make about the same power output and this is the second car with 2 different e mail tunes that feel very similar to the SCT canned. First kid ran a 12.48 and a 12.50 with the SCT canned tune then ran a 12.63 and 12.65 with the vendor e mail tune.

From what I gather most vendors will use the same map access as the standard sct handhelds. What this means is that everything you get with an email tune is available with just sct and some knowledge on how to tune.

So yes there will be small differences but most likely you will not be able to feel any difference. A dyno tune with the sct will be the same with added measure of adding specific knowledge into the tune. You may or may not be able to feel this difference either(ie. greater difference between stock and canned tune, than canned tune and dyno tune). However the difference of the dyno tune will show up on computer based measure such as the dyno.

There is one other way to tune, but most dont because it cost more.

I think the biggest complaint i see from the SCT canned tune is they run lean.
