S197 Mustang GTs vs any C5 Z06s or C6 base Corvettes?

I don't an S197 but in response to the OP - My S550 is about ~200lbs heavier I'm guessing than an S197 and I only have CAI, exhaust, cat deletes and a FF tune via Lund.

I've pulled every C5Z, LS2 C6 and LS3 C6 I've come across. Could be driver error as all the cars I've raced have been manual. I'm not even in the same league as a C6Z though. Props to the guy above who can keep up with them in his 5.0.

Went up against what sounded like a procharged C7 the other day. Got curb stomped.

I don't know, it's hard to get anyone to play with me, something about this violent rush of air in between shifts and suddenly they get sheepish....I will let you know though the second I do....I've killed a few challengers and some chargers....not sure why they are so insistent. One 392 a couple scat packs...both chargers were R/T's and autos..one challenger took off, but went weaving through traffic and that's something I won't do

A guy I work with has a stock 07 LS2 auto vette that claims will spank my stock 16 gt auto with 3.55's from a dig or roll.

I feel that it will be a drivers race with a slight edge to the vette??

A stock LS2/Auto C6 is good for a 12.2 @ 115mph in the 1/4 mile, FWIW. He'll probably beat you in a roll race. I'd say you'll take him from a dig.

That's the bone stock LS2 record though, they probably average around 12.5-7 at 111-113mph. Should be a good race.

Man I just don't know. I've now had my 14 GT for 8 months and can drive it well. It's hard for me to decide with is quicker, this GT or my C5Z I had. I think the GT takes it to 60 but the C5Z runs it down to 100+. JMHO by how they both feel. Didn't take either to the drag strip...

I have had a short run against a stock c5z when u only had cai, xpipe and tune. It was a short run from 40-80. Hung with him, but I figure it would be a bad loss as speed went higher. A stang just can't hang with the aero advantage a c5 has. I'm not intimidated at all. I have the power advantage and only give up 300 lbs. Now with cams and weight reduction I think I'd give one all it can handle.

the main thing to look at here are the trap speed consistency
not every one car 60ft or row thru gears like a beast, trap speed is a better measuring tool here, but trap speed has it flaws it also

I believe the current record 11.3 for bone stock c5z and a quite a few stock c5z has gone faster than this list
